Forest School Outdoor Learning: An Introduction (1st Session)
An introduction to forest school with gardening as a focus on gardening
This document gives an outline of what a session should/could look like and gives you a template to get started. It must be stressed that true Forest School does not follow a plan. Forest School must come from the children and the practitioner should follow the children's ideas, needs and/or interests. However, practitioners themselves may need some support in the beginning and this template (along with the ideas available separately) gives tremendous support.
This lesson plan contains games (warm-up activities) to promote language, literacy and confidence. It contains challenges to promote resilience and confidence and an activity to develop an awareness and respect of/for nature. The lesson/activity is planned for around 2 hours.
